After graduation, Brian went on to clerk for the Honorable Donald E. Obrien of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. As a federal law clerk, Brian researched cases and statutory law and assisted the Judge in both civil and criminal cases. Upon the conclusion of his clerkship, Brian, already being licensed in the State of Nebraska, decided to return to his home of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He took and passed the Colorado Bar and is now practicing with Clawson and Clawson, LLP, concentrating in the areas of Domestic Relations, Criminal Law and Personal Injury. Brian graduated in 1988 from Coronado High School in Colorado Springs. While there he was a state qualifier in Tennis. He then attended the University of Wyoming where he graduated in 1992 with a B.S. degree in Economics and a minor in Business. At the University of Wyoming, Brian played lacrosse and served in the Residence Hall Senate. After his undergraduate studies, Brian joined the Army maintaining the electrical and armament systems of the AH-64 Apache helicopter. Brian served for six years with the 1st Armored Division in Germany and with the 101st Airborne/Air Assault Division in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Brian was also among the first soldiers of the Implementation Force to enter Bosnia/Herzegovina in December of 1995. Brian also received the honor of being named Soldier of the Brigade in 1996 while deployed. Outside the office, Brian enjoys playing tennis, riding his motorcycle, and exploring Colorado with his wife, Terisa, and two children Jami (accomplished at showing her Arabian horse) and Jacob (the budding baseball player).
